#  Tech Glossary 

#### These are the technologies incorporated into our fabrics and what to look for when purchasing a garment made with Polartec.

**Polartec® Odor Resistant Technology**

Garments stay fresher for longer between washes. A silver salt (silver chloride) inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria for the life of the garment.

**Polartec® Odor Resistant w/Polygiene®**

Garments stay fresher for longer between washes. A silver salt (silver chloride) inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria for the life of the garment.

**Waterproof**

Completely impermeable to water to provide the highest level of protection against all forms of moisture and wind.

**Polartec® Durable Water Repellency**

Greatly increases the fabric’s inherent ability to resist water and snow without sacrificing breathability.

**Polartec® Sun Protection Technology - UPF 15**

UPF 15. This fabric provides good UV protection and is labeled according to the ASTM D6603 standard.

**Polartec® Sun Protection Technology - UPF 50**

UPF 50. This fabric provides excellent UV protection and is labeled according to the ASTM D6603 standard.

**Polartec® Anti-Static Technology**

Reduces the ability of static electricity to form on the surface of the fabric to decrease the potential for static build up and shock.

**Polartec® Hardface® Technology**

Dramatically increases abrasion resistance, reduces surface friction against other layers and adds durable water repellency.

**Dual Hazard**

High performance patent pending yarn blend meets both NFPA 2112 Flash Fire and NFPA 70E Arc Flash protection standards.

**High Visibility**

Drastically increases visual awareness through bright luminous colors and reflective properties.

**Polartec® Recycled**

Fabric contains a minimum of 50% recycled fibers that conserve energy and reduce CO2 emissions.

**Polartec® Recycled w/Repreve®**

Fabric contains a minimum of 50% Repreve® recycled fibers that conserve energy and reduce CO2 emissions.

**Polartec® Eco-Engineering™**

Sustainable wool and recycled polyester fiber blend minimizes environmental impact.

**Polartec® Flame Resistant (FR)**

Enhances safety applications with permanent flame resistant yarn technology that won’t melt, drip or ignite when in contact with intense heat sources.
