Polartec® Adopts Remote Work Permanently

The premium creator of innovative and sustainable textile solutions looks toward the future of office space

(Andover, Mass.) - July 1, 2021 - Polartec®, a Milliken & Company brand, and premium creator of innovative and sustainable textile solutions, announces the transition to a remote workplace model. Polartec will keep its innovation headquarters in New England, but officially shift formerly Andover-based employees to work from home.

Initially brought about by COVID-19, work-from-home has proven successful over the past year, as studies have shown that an overwhelming majority of American workers prefer remote work. While still rooted in the manufacturing of textiles, a culture that stretches back to the industrial revolution in Merrimack Valley, the move recognizes that the brand has transformed into a modern scientific research and development company in the digital era.

Polartec will increase regional presence with outposts, showrooms, and manufacturing facilities strategically located throughout the world. The brand’s manufacturing facility in Hudson, New Hampshire will now serve as a research and development hub for those in the New England region. Additional locations include Shanghai, China; Milan, Italy; Prato, Italy; Maastricht, Netherlands; Portland, Oregon; and the research and development campus at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The cornerstone of Polartec is innovation, adaptation, and always looking into the future to find solutions that work better. The shift into the modern era of the office environment is another step in that process.
