Flame Resistant

placeholder image

Polartec® started developing performance flame resistant fabric technologies for the U.S. Military in 2003 after combat uniforms began melting against the intense heat of IED detonations. This necessity to enhance safety abilities of fabrics used to protect against worksite hazards became a practical fit for commercial workwear applications. Today we continue to develop innovative permanent flame resistant yarn technologies used to create protective layering systems that perform in the most demanding work environments.

Spotlight On

Wind Pro FR®

While still air permeable, a tighter knit construction reduces the amount of wind chill. A durable water repellent outer surface withstands moisture and rain while retaining breathability and comfort. This stronger knit fleece is tough enough to take on the most challenging conditions.
