Launching a limited-edition collection for car racing enthusiasts
We’re pleased to announce our new partnership with the 8Js clothing brand, created by Sacha Prost, the son of four-time Formula 1 World Champion Alain Prost, and his sister-in-law Delphine Prost. 8Js is a young clothing and accessories brand dedicated to car racing and aimed at racing and car enthusiasts. The 8Js brand is contemporary but is inspired by a vintage style.
This collaboration between Polartec and 8Js has resulted in a limited-edition winter clothing collection for men that uses many of our best performance fabrics. The release date is expected to be in the fall/winter of 2019/2020.
This first collaboration with 8Js is proof of the increasing interest brands have for using “active” fabrics for everyday life in order to meet consumer expectations without compromising comfort and aesthetics.
Polartec CEO, Gary Smith, weighed in on the partnership. “The progression of performance fabrics from activewear to athleisure has reached the next stage of evolution: tech casual. Changes brought about by consumer behaviour has led to Polartec taking a fresh approach to product development. Millennials in particular have an expectation from technology which no other generation has ever had. We need to build the technology the consumer expects into the fabric.” At the same time the fashion component has to be there – it’s expected. Today’s consumer wants performance apparel that doesn’t look like performance apparel. Whether fashion designers want to design garments to keep the wearer safe, dry, cool or warm, Polartec has the answer. Just like with 8JS, we work with designers in a collaborative process to create bespoke solutions that offer high performance together with style.”
