Born in the French Alps, raised in Milan—no brand is better suited to stepping off a ski run and onto a catwalk than Moncler. The French-Italian brand began in 1952 with a humble but well-crafted line of down coats, stitched in a mountain village outside of Grenoble, France. By the 1960s, you could find Moncler coats on everybody from the French Ski Team to Jackie Kennedy. In the 80’s, Moncler’s down puffers became a fashion symbol for panini-loving Italian youths, bringing the puffy craze to the masses. Eventually, the brand moved across the mountains to Milan, Italy, where they still live between the worlds of high-culture and high-mountain.
Unlike other designers of haute couture, though, Moncler keeps their boots firmly clicked into their skis when it comes to performance. You’ll look amazing on the mountain in Moncler, but your gear will perform amazingly, too. 😉
