Main Story. 09. 30.
Focused on material for the city, premier NYC lifestyle brand, Outlier, once again turned to Polartec for its Futurecore Track Jacket, which features Polartec® Alpha® active insulation.
Polartec Alpha was originally invented for the U.S. Special Forces, which required a superior insulation system for the extreme temperature variations and the start-stop conditions of combat. Because the insulation technology is composed of lofted fibers as part of a solid mesh core, and is therefore not subject to feather or fiber migration, it allows for complete design flexibility in terms of any lining or exterior fabrics used around it.
In Outlier’s case, they have employed a warm 120g weight of Polartec Alpha insulation, along with a new nylon-core 17.5 micron merino lining, and their workhorse F.Cloth fabric on the exterior. This smart combination is a rugged yet breathable jacket designed to deliver thermal comfort without overheating. Three two-way zippers (one at the front, and two in the side seams) allow increased ventilation options.
Expected Thursday, September 30th at 1pm ET, shop the Futurecore Track Jacket here.
